Tim Slator; proprietor and sole trader of Tim Slator & Co, became a pest controller in 1976 when working with his father, Frank.
They established Valley Pest Control, the largest independent company in the south west employing 20 staff. After selling the company he has decided to establish a new business as a sole trader which includes assisting other small companies.
Pest control services provided by the business includes treatments against rats, mice and also wasp and hornet nest destruction.
The company also specialises in the proofing of buildings against bird intrusion. Current legislation permitting. All current training and certification is undertaken with Continued Personal Development and relevant Insurance and risk assessments can be provided. The business recognises the standards set out by the trade organisations BPCA and NPTA.

Many changes have affected the pest control industry over 50 years all of which have gone to improve the professionalism of the industry and the protection of the environment.
It is not the intention of this business to cause unnecessary harm or suffering to any pest species. However, measures sometimes need to be taken to protect the environment, which includes structures and buildings.
Current legislation to carry out work against certain wild birds is subject to the General Licences from Natural England AO8 and WML-GL35. All work undertaken by the company will adhere to this and other legislation.
